Metal finishing for Cincinnati and Tri-State manufacturers
MFI finishes parts on Este Avenue in St. Bernard. For plants across Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties, Northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana, the finishing line is closer than most in-house alternatives.
The Tri-State manufacturing base is mixed rather than built around a single industry. Precision machining grew up alongside the aerospace work in the Evendale corridor, and it sits next to consumer products manufacturing, food and beverage equipment, metal stamping and a dense population of contract machine shops. Most of that work asks a finisher for the same handful of things: corrosion protection on steel hardware, parts clean enough to assemble, edges taken down without losing tolerance, and a surface the next operation can rely on.

What this market usually needs
A different industry mix asks for a different process mix. These are the three that come up most often here, out of the six on site.
Electro Zinc Plating
Barrel work for hardware and rack work for stampings, which covers most of what local stamping and machining shops send out.
Learn moreDeburring and Mechanical Polishing
Controlled dimensional deburring matters most where the part came off a machine to a tolerance and has to stay there.
Learn moreParts Washing
Machining coolant and drawing compound come off before assembly, plating or packing.
Learn moreAll six processes run on one site, so a part needing several of them is quoted and scheduled as a single job. See every service.
Freight, and whether the trip is worth it
At this range freight is not really the question. Parts that leave your floor in the morning are on site the same morning, and a first article can come back for review before the rest of the lot is committed. That short loop is the practical advantage of a local finisher: a finish gets proven on a handful of parts rather than discovered on a few thousand.
Transit. Every location listed above is inside roughly a one hour drive of the plant. Lead time itself depends on the process and the lot size, so MFI quotes it per job rather than publishing one figure. Rush and hot orders are accommodated.
Questions from this market
That is the usual arrangement. Most work runs through several MFI processes on a single routing, washed, blasted, deburred, plated and passivated, quoted and scheduled as one job. Being in the same market makes that easier to set up, because the part and the print can be looked at together early.
Lead time depends on the process and the lot size, so MFI quotes it per job rather than publishing one figure. Rush and hot orders are accommodated. Inside the Tri-State transit is measured in minutes, so the quoted shop time is effectively the whole lead time.
