Stainless steel passivation
Passivation removes free iron and surface contamination from stainless steel and restores the chromium oxide layer that gives the alloy its corrosion resistance.
Machining, forming and handling smear free iron across a stainless surface. That iron corrodes, and it takes the part with it. Passivation dissolves the free iron and other oxides without attacking the base metal, which leaves a passive chromium-rich surface. The part returns looking essentially unchanged and holding the tolerances it arrived with.
What you get
